Ibiza - An Island of Contrasts

Ibiza holidays are mostly known for the famous nightlife and crazy clubs, but there really is so much more on offer across this beatuiful island. For starters, it’s the home of spectacular sunsets and panoramic views – not to mention the dreamy beaches.

Beach-focused spots like the classy Santa Eulalia or Talamanca are heavy in Spanish glamour and upmarket restaurants, while peaceful inland villages like San Jose are steeped in old-world charm.

The island’s capital city, Ibiza Town is one of a kind, with its historic town centre whose cobbled lanes and Roman structures were fit for ancient kings. Then pair this with the world-famous nightclubs of San Antonio Town, and you’ve got yourself a holiday in Ibiza that ticks every box.

Whether it’s a last minute trip, or a cheap Ibiza holiday you’re after, it’s seriously an island that covers all bases – it might even be the perfect destination. Find the right deal for you and find out for yourself.

Popular Resorts

Perfect for those looking to be away from it all, Port des Torrent has a scenic beach and is surrounded by nature and is dotted with just a few hotels. It’s well serviced by neighbours like San Antonio Town and Bay, but it works well as a quiet family base, ideal for exploring the surrounding areas.

Playa d'en Bossa has lots of amenities that make it the most popular resort for Ibiza package holidays, including the fact it has the longest beach and the only water park on the island. Add to that the amazing selection of bars, restaurants and famous clubs and you can soon see why it’s a top pick.

One of Ibiza's largest resorts, Santa Eulalia maintains its calm and is a charming, traditional Spanish resort oozing class. The town is a fantastic romantic getaway for couples but also provides a good base for families, who are drawn to the two good-sized beaches that are home to a selection of watersports.

The small, coastal town of Es Cana has something to offer relaxation seekers, watersports enthusiasts and those who enjoy an evening tipple of two. Life passes by at a leisurely pace here, and the sparsely-populated, sheltered beach is a quiet place to unwind. There's a real buzz about the town's famous hippy market though, which is worth getting up from your sun lounger for.

The well-known beauty spot of Portinatx can easily claim to be the most attractive resort in the Balearics for its contrast of brilliant blue waters with beautiful green landscape. There's a reason it was chosen as the setting of the film South Pacific. This most northerly point of Ibiza is a place to relax in seafood restaurants or sip sangria, relax on one of its three beaches, or explore dramatic coastal trails.

The small and peaceful resort of Cala Tarida on Ibiza's west coast is ideal for families, as well as couples who will enjoy romantic meals with the beautiful Ibizan sunset as a backdrop. Its white sand beach and deep blue waters add to the scene, creating a picture-perfect setting to holiday in.

Cuisine in Ibiza

The food in Ibiza is a delightful mix of Spanish and Meditteranean cuisine, and on holiday in Ibiza you’ll find there is a huge focus on fresh, local ingredients, in particular vegetables and seafood.

  • Although not exclusive to Ibiza, paella and tapas are widely available in restaurants thanks to it’s Spanish heritage. Enjoy shrimp, mussles and other shellfish, as well as iconic tapas dishes like potatas bravas, olives and cheeses.
