CANADA HOLIDAY DEALS 2024/2025
Step Away From The City
Canada spans six different time zones, so it’s no wonder you can explore everything from remote beaches to towering mountains here. When you need a break from the bright lights of one of Canada’s beautiful cities, then you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to fresh air and natural landscapes.
For the adrenaline lovers, why not try your hand at snowboarding Whistler’s mountains, surfing Nova Scotia’s swells, wreck diving in the turquoise waters off the Bruce Peninsula or kayaking the white-frothed South Nahanni River in the Northwest Territories? For those who want a more relaxed taste of the great outdoors, then a walk in Vancouver’s Stanley Park or swimming off Prince Edward Island’s pink-sand beaches are great options.
One of Canada’s most famous natural attractions is, of course, Niagara Falls. The collection of three waterfalls is possibly the most recognised in the world and marks the border between Canada and the USA. The ‘horseshoe’ falls is found on Canada’s territory – it’s the biggest of the three, and it’s at its most beautiful on an evening, when rainbow lights shine on the water.
See The Stars
Canada is home to many icons – Justin Bieber, ice hockey and of course, the national sweet treat, maple syrup. If you have a sweet tooth, taking a trip to a sugar shack in Quebec to see how the delicious syrup is made is a must! At the sugar shack, you can enjoy a meal, a brief insight into the history of maple syrup and some expert recommendations on the uses for the sweet stuff.
If you’re a Justin Bieber fan – or even if you just want to look into the past of a star – visiting Stratford, Ontario should be at the top of your list. Bieber, who is famous for becoming a young teen performer, was born and raised in Canada, and any super fans will know all the hotspots to visit to see where he grew up. One of the most popular spots is the steps of the Avon Theatre, where young Justin busked before making it big with his singing career.
If A-Lister spotting is not for you and you’re more the sporty sort, catching a game of Canada’s national sport – ice hockey – is the perfect adrenaline filled activity to enjoy during your holiday to Canada. Ice hockey became so popular thanks to the many ice rinks and outdoor areas that Canadians can use to practise their skating skills or shooting. This means that many people grow up playing ice hockey at school or in their free time with friends.
A Foodie’s Paradise
Thanks to its many influences, Canada’s cuisine is as varied as its landscape. Food lovers will be in their element here, with plenty of dishes to try across the country to get a flavour of the Canadian delights. From east to west Canada you’ll find something different, a delicious range of seafood in British Columbia, poutine (French fries topped with gravy and cheese curds) in Québec, and lobster with a dab of melted butter in the Maritime provinces.
Canada is also coming into its own when it comes to wine production. Ontario and British Columbia are the two largest wine-producing provinces in Canada with two-thirds of Canadian vineyard acreage found in Ontario. Bold reds and crisp whites are the favourites – we could definitely enjoy a glass or two right about now!
