The wonder of West Africa

The ever-shining sun and beauty of Senegal has seemingly been kept a secret from British holidaymakers for a while – but for no longer! Discover a vibrant mixture of wonderful West African culture intertwined with fascinating French history, all wrapped up against a backdrop of blue skies and beautiful beaches.

Feel at peace in Pointe Sarene

The up-and-coming resort of Pointe Sarene is a fabulous base for your Senegal holiday. You won’t find large crowds in these parts – what you will find is awe-inspiring vistas and a six-mile long beach front.

Senegal’s somewhat secret status means it’s not teaming with tourists everywhere you go, allowing you to enjoy this hidden gem better than ever. Lay back on Pointe Sarene Beach without a care in the world and feel all your worries melt away as the waves lap up to your feet on glorious gold sands.

This sleepy fishing village is getting an amazing makeover – while still retaining all the things that make it so special.

Say hello to Saly

This seaside town has so much to offer – from adrenaline-fuelled watersports to a vibrant dining scene and an array of beautiful beaches, there’s plenty to partake in in Saly.

Known as Senegal’s answer to the French Riviera, you can expect to find a pristine stretch of coast, high-end hotels and a fanciful selection of French restaurants. It doesn’t lose its distinct African feel though, with colourful clothing stalls and hand-painted fishing boats nearby.

Treat yourself to delicious cuisine with a side of people-watching, or if you’d rather make a splash, take up some of the tempting watersports on offer. There’s windsurfing, good old banana boats, or you can always make waves on a jet ski!

If you’d rather explore by boat, there’s plenty of trips taking you out from shore, including deep sea fishing trips that’ll have you discovering all kinds of new fishy friends – this part of the ocean is teeming with the likes of tuna, marlin, and even sharks.

Wake up to beautiful birdsong

Senegal’s wildlife offering is simply second to none – with six national parks up its sleeve, you’ll be treated to a whole host of amazing sights and experiences.

Saloum Delta National Park is the easiest one to access, being just 20 miles south of pretty Pointe Sarene. Stretching out for more than 400,000 acres and making up part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there’s certainly plenty for you to uncover.

From hundreds of species of birds including flamingos, spoonbils, and terns, to warthogs, spotted hyenas and red colobus monkeys, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped onto the set of The Lion King – all that’s missing is Pride Rock in the distance.

Enjoy a guided cruise around the parks or explore on foot – whichever you decide, you’re sure to be blown away by wonderful wildlife.
