Oulanka National Park

One of the most famous trails in Finland, it is home to the Karhunkierros Trail. At 82km in length, its popularity has grown from its beautiful surroundings. Along the trail, explorers can discover brown trout as well as other fish jumping out of the Kitka River against the thrashing rapids. If you’re looking for more incredible sights, the trail leads to the majestic Kiutaköngäs waterfall. With water descending from 14 metres, this natural attraction is unmissable.

Skiing in Ruka
Kuusamo holidays is the perfect place for winter sports. Head to the village of Ruka for the magnificent views as you cascade down the pristine slopes. Home to the largest beginner ski area in the country, you don’t have to be a professional to enjoy the fun. For ski enthusiasts, there are 35 runs to choose from including 30 that are illuminated for when the sun goes down.

A 30-minute journey to the historical village of Vuotunki will bring the perfect day trip to keep little ones entertained. Visit a 120-year-old countryside manor traditionally known as the place where Santa and Mrs Claus entertained guests. Nowadays, families are welcomed to the home for a day of winter fun.
During the day, children can enjoy winter activities such as tobogganing and sausage grilling with Santa’s helpers. Everyone is then invited to the kitchen to help Mrs Claus make gingerbread cookies and other sweet treats. Santa Claus is then ready for story time where he explains all about his life. The day of festive cheer brings many photo opportunities and each child can tell Santa their Christmas wishes in person.
