Dassia Holidays 2024/2025

Dassia is a favourite among visitors on holidays to Corfu because it offers relaxation and adventure, or a bit of both. You can sunbathe on the beach or get sporty in the water, try some Greek dancing, sample the lively bars or hit the shops. There’s also easy access to neighbouring beaches as well as the beautiful capital of Corfu Town.

An active beach lifestyle

Framed by walls of green pine trees, Dassia’s shore is 200 metres long, with clean, golden shingle and shallow, gentle waters. This strip of sand has earned itself a Blue Flag award, meaning that even in high season it remains clean and pleasant to be on. The beach is very family-friendly, with plenty of loungers and parasols, but not so many it feels overcrowded.

The beach has more than its fair share of watersports for its guests to enjoy. Waterskiing is a particular favourite among visitors to Dassia, but there are plenty of other choices advertised on the jetty.

Hire a boat and take your time visiting other beaches around the island – training is offered beforehand and it’s a great way to see Corfu. If you’re more of a kick-back-and-relax kind of person, you can shelter yourself under the beach’s olive trees and watch others skim across the ocean’s surface.

  • Best Restaurants
  • A relaxed nightlife

As night falls, Dassia becomes a chilled out paradise with stunning views out over the ocean. On a very clear evening you might even catch a glimpse of Albania in the distance as you dine at one of the many great restaurants in the resort. Most tavernas will stay open until the last customer calls it a night, and possibly later if the owners are feeling like a drink or a dance.

It’s not all traditional tavernas though as Dassia also has some friendly bars with staff who are used to sitting up late talking to locals and travellers with equal curiosity. You’ll find cocktails, Corfiot wine and beers from the Corfu Brewery, at most bars in Dassia.

Live music often takes the streets by storm, with people flowing in and out of bars hosting local acoustic music, known as rembetika, plus rock and soul artists from Corfu and further afield. If you’ve plucked up the courage, there’s a karaoke bar or two where you can sing your heart out.

    Shopping therapy

Dassia has its own selection of great shops. These are mostly situated on the coastal road. There’s a whole range of stores specialising in anything from designer handbags to comedy T-shirts. If you want to take a souvenir of your Greek island holiday home from Dassia, this is the place to look.

Local Greek craftspeople dot the seafront selling pottery, backgammon and chess sets as well as other fascinating, traditional gifts. If you’re willing to spend a little bit more you can take home something made from genuine Greek olive wood. It lasts forever and smells amazing.

    A city break

The historical city of Corfu Town is little over 20 minutes away and offers a number of fantastic things to do. These include a jaunt around the old town and market traders, who sell all the best local produce and hand-crafted souvenirs. If you look up you’ll see the towering Old Fortress, which, over its lifetime, has protected the city against three Ottoman sieges. There are multiple UNESCO heritage sites, including old cathedrals and the remains of an ancient harbour.

You can get to Corfu Town easily by car via Paleokastritsa, or buses run regularly from the Dassia to San Rocco Square in Corfu Town. Alternatively, taxis are very safe and drivers are often friendly and chatty, some even give out private numbers so you can use the same driver again and again whilst on holiday. Using taxis is beneficial if you’re planning on staying out late at one of Corfu Town’s lively bars or clubs.
