The bustling town of Riva Del Garda, for example, is just 20 minutes away from Limone and has a charming lakeside promenade and old town where you can easily spend a few hours exploring.

As one of the most photogenic areas on the lake, Limone is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. Whether you’re meandering along the waterfront or heading inland to explore the lemon groves and hilly terrain, there are plenty of chances to soak up the scenery on foot. Popular walking routes include the north path to the Sun Walk trail, where you can take a detour to the Sopino Waterfalls and end the day with a chilled drink on the sunny terrace at Hotel Panorama. If you’re keen to explore the wider region, catch the ferry over to Malcesine where you’ll find more scenic routes and a cable car that transports you up into the mountains for panoramic views.

Every Wednesday, Limone hosts a weekly market with a range of high quality Italian goods on offer – from homemade pottery to leather handbags and clothes. Limone is also home to a number of festivals throughout the summer months, as well as regular open air concerts and firework displays which can be watched from the harbour.
Just an hour’s drive north from Limone is the gorgeous Trentino region, which is famous for its rolling vineyards and wineries. The two main attractions – the Ferrari winery and the smaller Grigoletti winery – offer tasting tours where visitors can sample some of the area’s finest wines.
The historic city of Verona can also easily be reached from Limone by car or public transport, where you can spend the day browsing the designer shops, exploring the famous amphitheatre and people-watching at the Piazza Bra.

Limone has a has a fairly laid-back nightlife, with a good selection of restaurants and bars dotted along the waterfront and down the winding streets. Most of the boutique shops, cafés and ice cream vendors stay open until late – perfect for a post-dinner wander around the town. The larger hotels in the area also have their own restaurants and bar areas where you can enjoy a casual evening in.
For more variety, walk along the waterfront to the neighbouring towns to sample their selection of restaurants and nightspots. You can even catch an evening boat ride across to Malcesine and enjoy a peaceful drink in the pretty harbour.
