Turunc Holidays 2025/2026
Turunc is one of Turkey’s prettiest coastal resorts. Once a fishing village, it’s now a magnet for families and couples looking for peaceful Turkey holidays in an idyllic location. The beach here is sandy and surrounded by lush vegetation. While a market, boat trips and watersports can also be found here.

Life’s a beach
A holiday in Turunc centres around the beautiful Blue Flag beach that runs from one end of the resort to the other. It’s sandy and offers free sunloungers and parasols. Near the harbour, the beach is flanked by many beach bars and restaurants – great for an afternoon snack or for enjoying a sundowner in the evening.
The azure water is welcoming for swimmers, and more energetic holidaymakers will find a range of watersports on offer. Just head to the end of the beach where the water taxi is moored and you’ll spot the watersports facilities and hire.
You can always hire a boat or go with a local company to get a real feel for this stunning area. For a day-long trip, a voyage on a Turkish gulet yacht is the answer. You’ll be wined and dined and offered snorkelling and diving experiences in the beautifully clear water. Access secret magical coves or stay on the sea until late evening while you unwind in this beautifully calming environment.
If you’re looking to give your spirit of adventure a boost during cheap Turkey holidays, you can also hire a 4×4 and explore the region on four fast wheels.
Shop till you drop
There’s a market in Turunc every Monday, open from 8am until 4pm. Choose from leather goods, tablecloths and cushion covers, and find yourself a bargain. The market cafe also offers cooling refreshments.
Turunc is in a fantastic position not only having its own market, but being close to many others. In fact, you can spend every day of the week just exploring the local market scene. Icmeler and Dalyanmarkets are both easily accessible from Turunc.
If you’re looking for a special present, then jewellery shops in Turkey are rated for their quality of craftsmanship and gold. And you should be able to find a bargain in Turunc’s shops.
Experience true Turkish flavour
Even though Turunc’s a low-key resort, there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. At night, the village centre becomes a pedestrianised area, meaning you can stroll the streets freely and enjoy a delicious meal or late-night drink. The eateries range from simple establishments that serve traditional meals, to sophisticated restaurants you’d expect to find in a city.
Situated on the main road and in the shade of tall pine trees is The Tea Garden. Here you can sip on teas and soak in the atmosphere. The pancakes are particularly good and refreshing apple tea is on offer too.
Something of an establishment in Turunc, Can Restaurant has been managed by the same family for over 25 years. They serve both international and Turkish cuisine, and diners can enjoy extensive views over the bay.
When you need some home comfort, Musti Restaurant offers a fantastic traditional English breakfast. Located in the main street, it’s a great choice for families.
Explore the surrounding Dalaman region
A walk away from the main tourist areas will reward you with stunning scenery, and don’t be surprised if you come across stalls selling produce from the land. The landscape surrounding Turunc is still largely agricultural, so you can expect lush fields, small meandering paths and a sense of peace from its rural landscape.
Looking at the glinting sea is truly charming, but heading out onto the water is even more enjoyable. You can take boating and sailing trips to many nearby areas of interest. The five-bay cruise is very popular with holidaymakers, who want to access beaches that can’t be reached by road. A trip to the healing water and mud baths of Dalyan is also recommended and, if you prefer to set your own course, you could always hire your own boat.
