While staying here gives you access to its cafe-lined square and beaches, you’re also just across the bay from the museums of Kefalonia’s capital Argostoli. Skala was once a fishing village now known for its Blue Flag award-winning beach, while no-fuss Katelios is blanketed with pine trees and cut with trails through olive groves.

The best time of year to book your last minute holiday
