A guide to the best beaches in Ibiza

Ibiza is privy to miles and miles of gorgeous beaches, tucked into cliffsides and lined by pine trees, backed by promenades and alive with watersports. Here, there’s no one way to relax along the coast. You can get your Zen on at the secluded Cala d’en Serra cove or crank the music up to eleven at the bouncing clubs along Playa den Bossa beach. Santa Eulalia‘s beaches are ritzy with whitewashed buildings and romantic restaurants, while families find enough room to stretch out at the busy shores of Figueretas. Here are our top picks.

Playa d'en Bossa

As the longest beach on the island, Playa d’en Bossa beach comes with a lot of perks – bars and restaurants lining the shore and plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas to go around. It also has the widest range of watersports activities in Ibiza, including pedalos and catamaran rentals, water skiing and jet skiing, plus shallow waters for paddling. Countless clubs like the famous Bora Bora Beach Club and the neon-lit Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Club keep the energy up here.

Cala d'en Serra

This secluded cove is Cala Llonga‘s best kept secret. It’s a quiet spot sheltered by rocky cliffs and backed by a tiny beach bar that overlooks the sea. Strong winds make for strong currents, which means Cala d’en Serra’s waves are great for sports like windsurfing. The shores, however, are ripe for relaxation and the landscape is a stunning array of blues and greens.

Cala Xaracca

Crystalline doesn’t even begin to describe the waters at Cala Xarraca, a small cove tucked away amid rocky cliffs just a five-minute drive from Portinatx. For cheap holidays in Ibiza, Portinatx is a must with stunning beaches on hand. The pools here were made for snorkelling and the pine trees and coastal footpaths make it an excellent place for hikers to explore the nearby scenery. The middle portion of the beach is the busiest with activity and the two ends are popular with nudists.

Figueretas beach

When on Ibiza package holidays to Ibiza Town, you will find the beach at Figueretas close by, so you can be on the sand one minute and in the old town the next. It’s a chosen spot for families too, with calm waves that are great for children. Santa Eulalia beach

One of the town’s two beaches, Santa Eulalia Beach comes complete with wide stretches of white sand and clean, clear waters. Santa Eulalia is known as the luxurious section of Ibiza, so it comes as no surprise that the beach is backed by whitewashed buildings, cream-coloured parasols and romantic restaurants with outdoor terraces.

Cala Jondal

This scenic patch of beach is another popular upscale option, closest to the town of San Jose. It’s speckled with white pebbles that slope up to sandier sunbathing spots, all topped by thatched umbrellas. Behind the shores, you’ll find pine trees and rocky cliffs stretching out in either direction, plus swanky beach clubs that’ll even bring drinks out to your anchored boat via dinghy.

Cala Conta

The shores are also dotted with pedalos for renting, plus kayaks and a diving school that’ll get you out and exploring the seas. Portinatx has two additional coves, which provide quieter sunbathing spots. Walking between all three proves an incredibly scenic stroll, so don’t be afraid to get out and about.
