A guide to nightlife in Kissimmee
The historic district of downtown Kissimmee is an area filled with a variety of popular bars, some of which are even family orientated, so visitors choosing Florida holidays here will be well entertained. The club scene is limited but Sun on the Beach in the old town theme park is a popular choice, while for something a bit more alternative there’s always the chance to catch a show or concert at the Osceola Performing Arts Center.
Great cocktails at Red Shoe Martini
Located in downtown Kissimmee, there’s no mistaking this venue with the striking red shoe that adorns the bar. The friendly staff will help you choose from a selection of delicious speciality martinis. For those who prefer something different, there’s wine and beer, too.
And if you head here for dinner, you can sample their delicious sushi, otherwise just prop up the bar or be seated to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere. Thursday Karaoke is great for a sing-a-long, while TV screens stream music videos. Red Shoe Martini attracts a varied clientele – expect a healthy mix of hen dos, couples and large groups of friends and families.
Dance the night away at Sun on the Beach
This is one of the few nightclubs in the area and it’s located in the centre of the old town theme park. Because of its location it attracts a fun mix of people and there are plenty of beers and other drinks to choose from.
The bartenders are friendly and there’s a party atmosphere late into the night. There are also themed events most nights of the week, this includes Thursday Pride Night, Friday 80’s Night, Saturday top 40 Night and Sunday Latin Night. Cheap holidays to Kissimmee are all about the good times, and Sun on the Beach is definitely the place to have them.
Small and intimate surroundings at Breeze
This cosy bar, also located in historic downtown Kissimmee, is ideally located among the restaurants of the area, making Breeze an ideal place to stop off for an after dinner tipple.
It’s a family-run bar and the charming mixologist can whip you up an exotic cocktail with a smile on his face. But if you’re after a pint or a spirit, there’s also a diverse selection of craft beers, and a variety of whisky to tickle your fancy. Breeze attracts a fairly young and hip crowd, who also head here for the live music evenings.
Traditional watering hole at The Wicked Stepsister
Hang out with the locals at this popular bar – after you’ve been here once, everybody will know your name. Step inside this friendly watering hole in downtown Kissimmee to shoot some pool while the TV screens broadcast the latest sports.
And they’ve got the music covered with live bands and authentic US country music performed on Friday nights. Head down for Thirsty Thursday between the hours of 8pm to 10.30pm for some bargain priced domestic beers. Or, on the first Friday of the month, you can make a whole evening of it by buying some food from the nearby food truncs and bringing it on down to the bar, with live music on stage at 10pm.
Catch a show at Osceola Performing Arts Center
A break away from the bar theme, the Osceola Performing Arts Center is a recently modernised 2,000-seater auditorium with an orchestra pit. Many events and competitions are held here highlighting local talent, while if you’re lucky, you might catch a concert, comedy night, circus act and popular family shows such as Shrek the Musical. You won’t have to travel far and it offers a cultural alternative to the thriving bar scene.
