A guide to nightlife in Mojacar
Mojacar doesn’t have the wildest nightlife on Spain’s southern coast, but it does have some quiet bars and one or two places for a night on the tiles – or sand. For those who enjoy a more relaxed night on the town – with a glass of wine and some tasty tapas – you’re in an ideal location. There are plenty of bars on the beachfront in Mojacar, some of which are only around for the summer months. Here are some ideas for entertainment in Mojacar after the sun goes down.
Hang out at BBME's Beach Bar: Lola's
This bar is set right on the beach and has a chilled out vibe, with canopied beds set up in case you become so relaxed that you need to lie down. During the day they serve up delicious seafood lunches and in the evening it transforms into a dance floor on the sand.
Feel the sunshine at El Cid Beach Bar
Run by Californian owners, this bar has been on the seafront since 1978. Known as the friendliest bar in the area, El Cid Beach Bar is a favourite with both locals and tourists. Grab a drink or sample one of their tasty meals, including fish, meat and pasta dishes, which are served until late.
Busy and booming Mandela Beach
If you’re looking for a buzzing atmosphere with dance music, Mandela Beach is one of the few nightclubs in Mojacar to offer both. Don’t wait around too long deciding on where to go, because this place is always packed. Created in the Miami Beach club tradition, you can dance the night away to DJs playing the hottest music. Come for the themed parties including ‘I love Mondays’ and get yourself one of the coveted VIP rooms. Mandela Beach is open until 5am.
Special sounds at Maui Beach Club
This chiringuito bar serves up beers, cocktails and spirits at affordable prices and is one of the earliest beach bars to start up for the summer season, opening in March. Come for the live music and dancing on the beach that takes place night and day.
Drinks galore at The Loft Lounge Bar
With great Mediterranean Sea views, this sports bar shows all the major sporting events on both Sky and BT Sports. Watch the game whilst relaxing on one of the comfortable lounge chairs on the terrace. With lots of drinks to choose from, you can have three different draught beers, local and international draught cider, wine, and Guinness.
Try the tapas at El Sitio
This fashionable Spanish bar is frequented by both tourists and locals because of its laid back ambience. Come in the evening to try their imported branded spirits, liqueurs and a delicious list of cocktails. Plus, an item off of the tantalising tapas menu is included in the price of your drink.
Step it up at Lua
Relax in Lua’s hammocks and loungers that overlook the beach while you sample some of the best cocktails in Mojacar. Lua has great music as well as an amazing ambience created by its exotic looking décor. In the evenings the relaxing tunes are replaced by dance music – perfect for those that fancy a little boogie.
Ankara Beach Bar is home to some stunning sea views and serves up plenty of cold and tangy cocktails and mojitos. In the evening the Ankara Beach Bar hosts live music from local bands and hears them cover classic hits from groups such as The Kinks and The Rolling Stones.
