Spotlight On: Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess

Next up in our Spotlight On blog series is a beautiful hotel that’ll have you seeing double. Twin hotels, double the fun, double the facilities, double the holiday satisfaction! And in one of our most popular destinations…we’ve of course found you the best priced deal too. What are you waiting for?

Gorgeous Gran Canaria

The Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess in Gran Canaria gives you ultimate holiday luxury, without the price tag. This beautiful spot is actually two hotels, a mirror image of each other that have joined forces to bring you the perfect place to enjoy your summer in the sun. On the southern tip of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, Maspalomas is a quieter, more sophisticated version of its neighbour, Playa del Ingles. Instead of big shopping centres and starry-eyed nightclubs, it serves up first-class restaurants and designer boutiques – all next to a standout strip of beach.

There’s a handful of supermarkets and restaurants closeby to the hotel, and an amazing golf course too. If you want to head to somewhere a little more upbeat, Playa del Ingles is just a short taxi journey away. Here you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants, and even some clubs! It’s a lively town which widely celebrates the LGBTQ+ community in all its glory.

The swanky town of Meloneras isn’t far from the hotel either. You can hop in a taxi for just a couple of Euros, or if you follow the dried riverbed to the right hand side of the hotel gates, you’ll be able to walk there. It’s a nice, flat walk that takes you past a nature reserve and the Maspalomas Sand Dunes. It takes around 20 minutes depending on your pace, but you don’t mind when the sun is shining!

Amazing Amenities

Thanks to the sheer size of this resort, you know that the hotel isn’t going to be short on facilities. Everything you could need or want can be found at the Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess, and if you don’t want to leave the hotel, trust us when we say, you really don’t need to! There’s an exotic feel to the main pool area, thanks to over-water bridges, thatched canopies and waterside palms.

The main pool’s like a huge lagoon. Bridges and islands split it into different sections, and there are sun loungers, Bali beds and bars around the outside. There’s a total of six outdoor pools – including an adults-only number on the Tabaiba side – where you’ll need to be 18+. The Sabana Aqua Park is a great hit too! You’ll find this on the Maspalomas side of the hotel. It has two pools, both of which come with a selection of slides. One side is suitable for smaller kids, the other for bigger children – its slides come with a 1.2m height restriction.

Over on the Maspalomas side of the hotel, there’s a fantastic outdoor theatre where the hotel’s entertainment team put on fantastic shows for the whole family. There’s also a kids mini disco where youngsters can let off some steam before bed time. For a more sophisticated affair, you can head to the Terraza Chill Out Bar which has an open-air terrace for drinks, and in the evenings, there’s live music.

Food Glorious Food

The Food Market is the main buffet restaurant for Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess. You can access it from both sides of the hotel, and it’s found on the basement floor of the hotels. The Food Market is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the hotel asks you to book a spot for your breakfast and dinner dining times. This is really easy to do using the hotel website or interactive boards in the hotel.

Around the pool area, there’s two delicious snack bars that serve up tasty treats. They are the perfect place to grab your lunch if you don’t want to venture too far away from the pool area. La Choza, closer to the Tabaiba side, is where you’ll find healthier lunchtime options like fresh fish, potatoes and a fantastic salad bar. El Mordisco, closer to the Maspalomas side, is where you’ll find all your fast food favourites like pizza slices, burgers, hot dogs, chips and chicken nuggets.

Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess also has two specialty restaurants, which are available to book during your stay. You can dine once at each restaurant for every five nights you stay, and you need to make a reservation. Kokoro is a delicious Asian restaurant – it’s buffet style and you can enjoy a range of different dishes including freshly made sushi. Il Pecatto is the Italian themed buffet which serves up a whole host of Italian favourites like pasta dishes, pizza and fresh meats.

Holiday Bliss

The rooms at Maspalomas and Tabaiba Princess have been recently renovated, so you can be sure everything is in tip top condition when you arrive. The rooms have a homely, warm feel to them on the Maspalomas side, while the Tabaiba rooms have a more contemporary style decor. All rooms here are kitted out with Wi-Fi, a flatscreen TV with satellite channels, air-con, toiletries and a hairdryer. The rooms also come with a mini-fridge- just so you’re aware, drinks are not provided.

The hotel has a beautiful spa too, which is the ideal place to wind down after a jam-packed holiday. The spa features a Jacuzzi, saunas, a Turkish bath, a wellness pool with a waterfall jet and 2 whirlpools. There’s also a salt cabin. To use the facilities here, you’ll need to be 18+ years and a reservation is required.

Happy Holidays!
