Nayra Hotel in Playa Del Ingles is an adults-only spot set in a fantastic location. The hotel is in the centre of Playa Del Ingles and is just a few metres from Yumbo Centrum shopping centre. If you fancy a lounge on the beach, it’s around a 15 minute walk to Playa Del Ingles beach. Golf fans will be happy to know that Maspalomas Golf Resort is 3km away!
It’ll take around 30 minutes to get to Nayra Hotel from Gran Canaria airport, and your coach journey is the perfect time to take in all of Playa Del Ingles’ sights and map out the places you’d like to explore on your holiday.
Back at the hotel, it’s worth noting that the pool scene is pretty relaxed, but after jam-packed days of exploring and lively nights of partying, this will be something you’re thankful for! The two pools are both rectangular numbers, but one’s a little bigger and has in-water loungers. The sun terraces are scattered with a mix of sugar-white Bali beds and loungers, and there’s a bar for drinks and snacks.
Get To Know Playa Del Ingles
Playa del Ingles is set on the southernmost tip of Gran Canaria. Sandwiched between the smaller resorts of Maspalomas and San Agustin, it’s brimming with purpose-built apartment complexes and hotels, big-name nightclubs, and a Saharan-sized beach. Come summer, it draws a young crowd looking to party, but with its long list of daytime activities, it’s a certified family favourite, too.
No matter what you enjoy doing in your spare time, there’s plenty of things to do in Playa Del Ingles for everyone. If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie, Playa del Ingles is a great spot for windsurfing, especially during the winter months, due to the west winds which create the perfect conditions at this time of year.
Playa Del Ingles has long been a popular destination for gay tourism in Gran Canaria and Yumbo is probably the epicenter for gay bars and nightlife on the island. At night it’s when the Yumbo Centre comes to life, with lots of bars and nightclubs attracting visitors of all ages and nationalities. At around 20,000 square metres, the Yumbo Centre is also the home of many shops and cafes, where you can relax during the daytime.
Hungry Tummies
Food at the hotel can be enjoyed buffet style and of course, there’s show cooking stations to really get you in the mood. Breakfast serves up firm favourites including omelettes, pancakes and bacon, and you can help yourself to fresh fruit, pastries and cereals. There’s a snack menu available from noon, and you can order stacked burgers and sandwiches to keep you going until dinner time. Thanks to the hotel’s amazing central location, it encourages you to get out and about on an evening and therefore doesn’t serve evening meals.
Restaurants in the local area offer you amazing choice and you can choose from a wide range of cuisines so every night can look different if you wish. Yumbo Centrum is a great place to explore first, and it’s opposite Nayra Hotel so you don’t have to walk far before finding tasty tea time options. Choose from China Town Restaurant, Royal Grill Steakhouse or Wapa Tapa Restaurant to name a few.
If you’re up for exploring a little further around Playa Del Ingles, you’ll be pleased to find some great restaurants closer to the beachfront. These include the legendary Hard Rock Cafe, Marco Polo Restaurant and Costa Italy.
Exciting Extras
Just like the food scene, Nayra Hotel knows local entertainment is second to none, so encourages its guests to get dolled up for the evening and head to a local bar or two. If you’re hoping for a spot for pre-drinks, the hotel’s pool bar is the ideal spot to kick start your evening – it’s open until 9pm, so you can grab a few drinks here before heading out on the town.
Gym lovers will be delighted to know, you don’t have to skip your workouts while you’re on holiday here. The gym is kitted out with a fantastic selection of cardio machines and weight-training equipment.
