Our stay at this Tunisian hotel was fantastic, we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone in need of a relaxing holiday in scenic surroundings. As its name suggests, the Iberostar Djerba Beach is situated overlooking the stunning, white sandy beach. Our room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The maid made lovely origami “sculptures” with our towels each day. It was such fun to guess what she would create next, and some days the animals looked so clever we didn’t want to spoil them by using the towels!
Despite many being unable to speak good English, we found every member of staff to be very helpful and friendly. They all went out of their way to understand us and be understood. The service was faultless. In fact, when I contacted reception to report the handle falling off one of our doors, it was fixed practically before I’d put the phone down! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
Although I felt it catered more for the German/French market, the food was of a very good standard. You could always count on a tasty pasta or pizza, and the freshly cooked breakfast omelettes are out of this world! Entertainment is probably not the most professional, polished or original you will see, but it is enjoyable to watch after a long, lazy day in the sun.
We spent a memorable day out at the local market – it was great fun haggling for souvenirs. We also embarked on the two-day Tunisian desert Explorer trip, trekking across the Sahara desert to splendid little villages appearing out of nowhere like an oasis, amongst other fascinating places with traditional architecture and amazing ruins We were made to feel so welcome and I could see so easily why films such as “The English Patient” were filmed here.
If you are looking to take a holiday in Tunisia, then we highly recommend that you consider the Iberostar Djerba Beach.
