I’ve just returned from a brilliant All Inclusive holiday in Egypt. I’d have no problem recommending Egypt to others! The hotel we stayed in, the ‘Three Corners St. George,’ is situated in the centre of Sharm el Sheikh, the Red Sea’s premier resort. We travelled in early June so we gladly welcomed the blissful temperatures so different from the grey, rainy climate and general misery of the British summer. It was such a lovely change from our own predictably unpredictable weather.
We were ultimately after a relaxing break to recharge the batteries, but we were also on a budget. Money was tighter than in previous years, and we needed to make it stretch. Bearing in mind we’ve always managed to spend a lot of money on meals, drinks, etc on past holidays, because we were either on a ‘Self Catering’ or ‘B&B’ board basis, we decided that we’d give a cheap-ish ‘All Inclusive’ deal a try. I’m so glad we did looking back. The ‘All Inclusive’ upgrade was an extra £100ish each up front, which sounds a lot, but considering what we consumed, the upgrade more than paid for itself overall. To show how cost-effective it was you only have to look as far as Sharm el Sheikh itself, where an alcoholic beverage in the main Na’ama Bay area averaged approximately £6 each!!
Besides having all of our meals, drinks and snacks taken care of, the hotel had a fantastic variety of facilities including its own private beach club complete with a terraced restaurant and bar and 2 swimming pools (one had a swim up bar!). Although the hotel 10 minutes from the private beach it was no trouble. A complimentary shuttle bus service ran to and from it throughout the day, and to make up for this, the hotel is well located close to the bright lights of Na’ama Bay and the old town.
The hotel staff were the icing on our holiday cake. They really made our holiday special for us; from Atef and Hani the rather entertaining bar staff, to our room cleaner Arafa (he left us towel art on our beds for when we returned to our room each night) to and the hotel manager Michael, who was very attentive, they were utterly superb.
Overall, our holiday was stress-free and very relaxed because we knew everything was being taken care of. I certainly would seriously consider an ‘All Inclusive’ package for my next holiday.
