This single-runway airport is located just 5km from Belfast city centre. The airport changed its name in 2006 to George Best Belfast City Airport in memory of the local legend, Irish Footballer George Best.

Finding it
The airport’s location is very accessible. On the southern shore of Belfast Lough, it is located on the A2 Sydenham Bypass Road between Belfast and the neighbouring town of Hollywood. Cars travelling on the M1 or M2 should follow signs for Belfast City Airport.
If you prefer to travel by rail, it’s best to disembark at Sydenham train station. There are Translink train services every 20 minutes from Central and Victoria Street Stations between 6am and 11pm everyday but Sunday. The service is hourly on a Sunday between 9am and 10pm.
Central station offers rail connections to the rest of Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic, so Belfast is only the beginning.
There is also a shuttle bus service that runs between the airport terminal and the train station at Sydenham. The information desk in the airport will give you everything you need to know about this service.
