A guide to nightlife in Fuerteventura
Many laid-back evenings can be spent during holidays in Fuerteventura but night-time fun can be found across the island in varying degrees of gusto. As well as hotel entertainment from vocalists and karaoke to cabaret shows and quizzes, you will find plenty of sports bars, British pubs, discos and restaurant-bars to enjoy the night in. Night-time revellers can be heard most loudly in the larger resorts of Corralejo and Costa Caleta, as well as in the capital Puerto del Rosario.
All kinds of antics in Corralejo
The bars dotted along the coast and around the harbour in Corralejo are perfect for sipping cold drinks and watching the world go by. For a more upbeat beachside night out, Waikiki Disco Beach Club plays music from all eras and has panoramic views of the harbour.
The main strip in Corralejo – Avenida del Generalisimo Franco – is where you will find most of the action. Upstairs in the Centro Commercial Atlantico are plenty of disco bars or try Flicks karaoke bar for a sing-song.If you’re into rock music, then head to either Rock Island or the Corner Rock.
Entertainment abounds in Costa Caleta
In the resort of Costa Caleta, nightlife revolves around the various commercial centres located along the main Avenida. For cocktails and music to make you move, Hemingways bar – on the top floor of Castillo Centro – also has a large terrace to cool off on. If 1960s music is your thing, then try Legends 60s Live Music & Sports Bar in the La Cupula Centre.
More quiet drinks can be enjoyed in Caleta de Fuste’s beautiful cove. Set just back from the bay is The Wine Show, great for chilling out in or watching the live show on a Saturday.
Forever cocktails in Jandia and Morro Jable
The spot for quiet nights out, evening entertainment is mainly hotel based in Jandia. However, you will find a mix of chilled out and lively bars along the seafront. For something a little more upbeat, the town’s two commercial centres – the Cosmo and Atlantica – between them provide plenty of music and cocktail bars. However, even here you won’t find the clubs opening too late.
Linking Jandia to the old town at Morro Jable is a long promenade that is home to Irish bars as well as shops and amusement arcades. Take the trip to Morro Jable for some lively cocktail and disco bars during Fuerteventura holidays, as well as a pub that often has acoustic live music.
Dance the night away in Costa Calma
Despite being a quiet resort Costa Calma is among the most popular for families booking cheap holidays to Fuerteventura, if you want a few drinks after dinner or a good night out you’ll find bars dotted about the resort to fuel your dancing appetite.
Los Piratas chill out and cocktail bar has events and DJs running throughout the week, including salsa dancing and Caribbean night. Or you could just relax on its outdoor terrace with a sea view. For something a little more upbeat, El Divino is a trendy club serving up electronic and house music.
Music to your ears in Puerto del Rosario
For more of a Spanish feel to your night out, head to the capital city where you can dance alongside locals and tourists in one of its many bars. The unassuming Pub la Tierra is tucked away in Puerto’s cobbled streets and is a cool place to sit and drink with a backdrop of rock, jazz and blues music. Or for a cultured evening, the Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura has a full line-up of classical and contemporary music, dance and theatre.
