A guide to Best Hotels in Playa Blanca
The jewel in Lanzarote’s crown, Playa Blanca blends the must-haves of a Mediterranean holiday spot, with a welcome touch of refinement. Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort
It’s super modern, close to the beach, and the cascading pools have amazing views of both the ocean and the Los Ajaches mountains. There are four pools in total, including one just for kids. The four restaurants serve a variety of international cuisine, and the selection of diverse bars is impressive. Activities are organised every day, including aqua aerobics, mini-golf and tennis. There’s a lovely wellness centre, and live shows on selected nights.
H10 Rubicon Palace
This chic, contemporary property looks stunning, boasts a whopping six restaurants and five beautiful pools, and has even bagged itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. There’s so much going on here too, from yoga and dance classes, to film screenings and daily live evening fun. There are numerous bars and a coffee shop, plus it’s just 100 metres from a small beach, a 10-minute drive from the bigger beaches, and five minutes from Playa Blanca.
Lanzasur Splash Resort
It’s all happening here and a lot of the fun is water-based. There are two great pools plus a water park on site, with plenty of slides, a wave pool and a lazy river. You can walk to Playa Flamingo beach in five minutes, and drive to the centre of town in the same amount of time. The minimalist bungalows are lovely. There’s a buffet restaurant, two bars, gym, supermarket, and live entertainment in the evenings.
Hipotels Natura Palace
Stylish, tranquil, and just for the adults. The Sensimar is an uber-modern seafront property with all the little touches you’d expect from a boutique hotel escape. The two lagoon pools are complemented by ocean views, comfy beds and a poolside bar. There are a variety of sporting and cultural activities on offer, and the relaxing spa provides a full menu of treatments. The eateries serve up a variety of cuisine, along with themed evenings and candlelit dining.
Cay Beach Sun Apartments
With its village feel, sprawling gardens and whitewashed buildings, these apartments really feels like your Spanish home away from home. There are two nice big pools and a kids’ club, it’s a short walk from the beach, and there’s even a quaint and super tranquil spa. There’s a buffet restaurant and sports bar on site, and it’s just over half a mile from the harbour area, and very close to all the local bars, shops and restaurants.
THB Tropical Island
Ten pools. That’s right. Ten. And one of them is a beast, complete with a slide and poolside snack bar. As this low-rise property is set back from the seafront in a peaceful fishing village, it has a very relaxing feel, and the apartments have everything you need. There are loads of sports on offer and vibrant evening entertainment. While it’s only a 20-minute walk from the beach, there’s a handy free shuttle to get you there and back.
TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach
There’s a lot to love about this place. A cluster of lovely whitewashed Mediterranean villas by the beach, three pools and a host of activities to keep everyone entertained. Family-friendly and homely, the villas are full of home comforts. There are three restaurants to choose from, and the kids have their own club and splash pool. There’s a creche and baby club for the very little ones too. It’s only a brief walk to the harbour and the Marina.
H10 Timanfaya Palace Hotel
Just for the adults, this is a stylish, contemporary property brimming with designer touches. Enjoy a fantastic location overlooking the sea, with two lovely big lagoon pools providing idyllic focal points. There are three pools in total, sporting activities and gym, along with a thatched pool bar, café and buffet eatery. The mood is completed by a piano bar playing live music. All this, only 150 metres from the beach and just over a mile from Playa Blanca. Perfect.

This one is all about sleek, low-rise loveliness, with a gorgeous mountainous backdrop and stunning sea views. The beach is five minutes away on foot, and it’s only 10 minutes to all the action of Playa Blanca. The mammoth pool snakes around the grounds, lined by palm trees and loungers. The little ones have their own pool, complete with pirate ship and slide. There’s also a spa, plentiful sporting activities, four themed bars and two inviting restaurants.
