Family Holidays to Cyprus
Cyprus may be known for its party and incredible beach scenes, but it’s also a fantastic spot for a family-friendly holiday. Decked out with amusement parks, waterparks, zoos and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Cyprus has plenty to keep the family happy this holiday.
Cyprus Family Holidays
Check out the regions of Larnaca or Paphos for your family holiday in Cyprus
Flights from the UK to Cyprus are just over four and a half hours long, so your family will be lounging on glistening shores in no time.
The Larnaca region in Cyprus has a host of activities for families. Nissi Beach – one of the most family friendly places in the area – is home to a stunning shoreline with the same name. Its white sands boast tons of options for watersports as well as places to eat and drink with a sea view. Families can spend days on this coastline and never hear the dreaded words ‘I’m bored’ .
In Paphos, you’ll find Blue Flag beaches, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and unmatched natural beauty that include sea turtle nesting grounds. Family friendly hotels dot the coastline, as do fun options for days out like the Paphos waterpark or zoo.
Best family friendly beaches
From quiet, secluded coves to action-packed shores, Cyprus abounds with excellent beach facilities. The Larnaca area is known for its gorgeous seaside venues, including the ever-popular Nissi and Mackenzie Beach, with their endless stretches of white sand. Fig Tree Bay also makes the must-see list, with a Blue Flag award under its belt and great watersports available like windsurfing, parasailing and water skiing.
The Paphos region also has its fair share of family-friendly shores. Coral Bay, another Blue Flag winning beach, is encircled by a pair of limestone headlands. You can rent parasols and sunbeds and find plenty of spots to grab a bite to eat along the shore.
Best family activities in Cyprus
With so many family attractions in Cyprus you’ll have plenty of choice. Protaras in Larnaca is known for its Magic Dancing Water performance – this beautifully-crafted show includes streams of water and smoke making mesmerising images, all set to music.
Larnaca itself is home to the Camel Park of Mazotos, a kids’ amusement park with bumper car rides, a large swimming pool, a zoo with ostriches and wallabies and its main attraction, camel rides. Meanwhile in Paphos, kids will have no end to exciting places to check out, like the adrenaline-fuelled Super Aphrodite Waterpark or the Paphos Zoo’s tigers, elephants and giraffes.
