A guide to the best restaurants in Arillas
Arillas is situated on the northeastern side of Corfu, meaning it gets a lot of cool breezes and hot sun. The climate in this area is perfect for growing crops, which makes it all the better for restaurant culture in town. The food reflects the landscape, and the dishes you’ll get to try on holidays to Corfu here are some of the freshest you’ll find in Greece. Arillas is famous for its annual wine festival, so also expect incredible accompaniments to your meals at most restaurants.
Always a warm welcome at Brouklis Taverna
Sheltered under wild climbing plants, Brouklis Taverna serves up the most authentic Corfiot food with a smile. The owner and his family recognise their customers year after year, and are always keen to welcome new friends into their restaurant.
Enjoy the sunset at Akrotiri Café
Akrotiri has been described by customers as ‘heaven on earth’. It’s a steep walk up to the restaurant, but when you’re up there the views are certainly out of this world. The food and service is top quality, with fresh Greek dishes served daily. Plus, they’ve got excellent cocktails to top the whole experience off nicely.
It's all caught fresh at Graziella Taverna
Graziella Taverna is set just a few feet above the beach, with impressive views of the sunset over the ocean. The proximity to the water explains the amazing seafood that is on offer at this restaurant. You’ll find freshly caught seabass, sardines and calamari, all served with fried potatoes, rice or salad.
Feel the love at Ammos Bar
Ammos serves up great coffees, fruit plates and ridiculously-decorated cocktails with love. On the menu are pizzas, sharing dishes and crepe desserts. This is a great place to quietly enjoy the sun setting across the water, if you don’t want the busy environment of a taverna. Just make sure you get a clear view of the horizon over the towering pineapple in your drink.
Less is more at Vinceremo
At Vinceremo it’s all about simplicity. They’ve got the best house wine in the village, the freshest grilled fish, and a menu seasoned with all the local’s favourite Corfiot dishes. Located at the end of the beach in Arillas, make the journey and you’ll enjoy the simple pleasures at reasonable prices.
Watch the world go by at Kostas on the Beach
This taverna boasts a refreshing rustic interior, with fantastic views over the Ionian Sea. All the meat and fish is grilled to perfection, served with chips, salad and a smile. They might just have the best pork souvlaki on the island – as it’s a Greek classic, that’s really saying something.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Horizon
As the name suggests, Horizon is the place you want to be at sunset for great views on your Greek island holiday. However, Horizon has a great atmosphere in the daylight too. A minimalist white interior makes the beachside location extra chic. The pizzas, salads and cocktails come particularly recommended, and these can be enjoyed any time of the day.
Take a break from swimming at Eftihia Snack Bar
Located under a large canopy which offers shade from the hot Corfiot sun, Eftihia Snack Bar is a great place to stop for lunch. The food is fantastic, it’s good value, and there’s a pool next door to dip in if the sea is a bit choppy.
Stop for something sweet at Gravia Snack Bar
Excellent views, wonderfully friendly people and great food are all at Gravia. The desserts here are a must, so don’t skip them. Brownies, cheesecakes and ice cream are top of the list if you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth. If not, end your meal with a coffee and a bit of people watching.
An authentic night out at Hotel Marina Restaurant
The Hotel Marina attracts most of its custom on a Saturday night, when it holds a traditional Greek evening for its guests. Some say it’s got the best Stifado in Corfu, but you’ll have to check that out for yourself. The staff are friendly, informative and, to top it all off, the prices are pretty reasonable.
