A guide to nightlife in Limenaria
As one of the more relaxed resorts to choose from on holidays to Thassos, don’t expect too much in the way of raucous nightlife in Limenaria. For that there’s always Thassos Town and nearby Potos, both a short taxi ride away. Having said that, there is a nightclub, and the abundance of restaurants around town retain a lively atmosphere until around midnight, with many of them offering live Greek music throughout the week. For those wishing to delay the dawn of a new day a little longer, a cluster of laid-back lounge bars and cocktail places remain open until 2am, depending on the time of year.
Bust out your best moves at Bolero
Operational from June to September, Bolero is the place to go if you have a craving to hit the dancefloor on Thassos holidays. It’s only open on Friday and Saturday night with a live DJ and a bustling atmosphere. As one of the town’s major night-time hotspots, it’s regularly packed with pretty young things shaking their tail feathers well into the wee hours of the morning.
Get the best deals at Istos Cafe Bar
Don’t be fooled by the name – Istos may double up as a cafe during the day, but come nightfall the emphasis falls very much on the ‘bar’ side of things. With fancy dress nights, glow-in-the-dark themed events and student deals, it’s no surprise this place is constantly bustling with fresh young faces. Resident DJs are occasionally joined by touring guests from mainland Greece and overseas.
Sit back and relax at Vythos Bar
As with many of the bars in Limenaria, Vythos belongs to the owner of the adjoining hotel. It serves a mix of hotel guests and ‘outsiders’ who are made to feel welcome. The multitude of TVs makes it the ideal place in town to watch the big match, and if you check with the boss in advance, he’ll do his utmost to make sure they’re showing your team’s game.
Comfort and cocktails at Desire Cafe
Open till late, Desire Cafe offers a peaceful haven. Comfortable chairs, delicious cocktails and calm surroundings are soundtracked by mood music which will keep your toes tapping rhythmically to the mellow beats.
Scenic sunsets at Navagio Beach Bar
At Navagio Beach Bar you can sip on a delicate concoction of flavours in a fancy glass with a parasol in it, as the waves gently lap at your feet and the sun dips beneath the horizon. Don’t expect fireworks or pumping music, but you can bank on a relaxed atmosphere that is the perfect precursor to a restful evening.
Waterside delights at Rodolfo's
A family-run hotel with a bar-restaurant, Rodolfo’s is open until late serving cocktails, which you can enjoy on seats with parasols right beside the water. After trying their expertly-cooked platters of seafood you can stay for a drink and while away the night.
Nothing plain about Vanilla Beach Bar
An elegant bar, Vanilla combines soft, rustic decor with a curved white bar stocking every spirit you could wish for. They’ll whip you up a refreshing cocktail you can enjoy on high tables inside with a view directly onto the beach, or take it on to the sand with you.
Decorated like someone’s front room, you can enjoy a homely evening on the indoor sofas at Street Cafe with chilled house music as the background. Or, as the name suggests, sit on chairs on the scenic street among pretty 19th-century buildings. They are expert cocktail mixers here, ready to make you something you’ve not tried before, accompanied by free mezze.

Laid back lounging at Le Sun Beach Bar
