Anjuna Holidays 2025/2026

Stepping out into the world of Anjuna, you’ll be enveloped by a mystical and evocative atmosphere. Its character might be due to the fact that Anjuna was a major part of the ‘hippie trail’ during the ’60s, or perhaps because this is still where people love to come to find peace, meaning, and even themselves. Anjuna isn’t just for backpackers though; tourists from all walks of life come here to experience its beauty and for an exciting, fascinating step back into the past.

Time for the beach

Anjuna Goa doesn’t have a beach in the traditional sense – you won’t find white sand and crystal-clear waters, but there’s plenty of stunning scenery to take in. While the beach is narrow, there’s plenty of room for everyone as it stretches on for almost two kilometres. Not only can you relax on the sand (or in a hut complete with cushions) or splash around in the delightfully-warm Arabian Sea, you can also enjoy a plethora of watersports including jet skiing, banana boats, or even parasailing.

Discover the party scene

If you’re looking for somewhere to party then holidays to Goa might not be your first thought, but that would be a shame because you would be missing out on the fantastic night life that Anjuna has to offer.

When darkness falls, the beach where you relaxed during the day becomes the ultimate party, complete with lights, decorations and music. This is where you’ll find some of the world’s most famous and influential DJs, and you can party the night away in style.

Prefer a different type of partying? No problem – you can find live music in most of the bars and restaurants in the area.

Shop 'til you drop

Shopping at the Anjuna Goa flea market (a staple since the ’60s at least) is a true experience. Put your bargaining skills to the test as you haggle for the best price for exotic rugs, spices, perfumes, food, clothing and almost anything else you can imagine. The flea market is famous, but there are other markets to explore too, including Arpora’s Saturday night market and Mupasa’s vibrant local market.

Relax the right way

The beauty of Anjuna holidays is that they can be whatever you want them to be, from partying to shopping to eating and exploring. And of course, they can be about relaxing. In fact, relaxation is a huge part of Anjuna’s charm as there are so many different ways to do it.

For instance, join in with a variety of different yoga styles including Ayurveda, ashtanga, vinyasa and hatha, or indulge in spa treatments such as a massage, and other holistic treats. The community thrives on this, and so will you – it’s what makes Anjuna such a special place to be, and why people return again and again.

Goa is on your doorstep

Goa is such a magical, mystical place that when visiting Anjuna, it would be remiss of you not to explore a little further afield. Anjuna is the ideal spot for discovering more about the rest of Goa. It gives a snapshot of the area as a whole, and is the ideal base for setting off on adventures during the day. Afterwards, return to base and settle in to watch the wonderful, natural display as the sun begins to set.

Goa has so many things to see, including traditional villages, breath-taking waterfalls, spice plantations, bustling towns, and of course its world-famous beaches.

Soak up the history

If history is your favourite subject, then you’ll love your time in Anjuna. Its past is colonial Portuguese, and there is evidence of this everywhere you turn, from the food to the architecture – and don’t forget to make time to visit St Michael’s Church, which was built in 1595 and is just as stunning today as ever.

There are ruins too, for those who prefer their history a little more raw. Take a trip to Chapora Fort or Aquada Fort, and you’ll get an idea of what it used to be like in Anjuna.

Sample colourful cuisine

amazing cuisine the area has to offer. As you might expect, it is heavily influenced by Anjuna’s Portuguese heritage, but there are aspects of Konkan-Hindi cookery (which includes a lot of fish) too. You can also find vegetarian restaurants a-plenty, making this the perfect place to sample something new.

Anjuna has a reputation as both a relaxing spot full of culture and history and as a party town. It’s possible to have two entirely different holidays here, or to combine the two and really get a feel for this gorgeous Goan village. Whatever you like to do on holiday, you’ll get a chance to do it in stunning surroundings, with great weather, and accompanied by friendly, welcoming locals. What more could you ask for?
