Antalya Last Minute Holidays
Charmingly antique with splashes of the 21st century
The city of Antalya has a rich history, as shown in the Roman harbour and Ottoman inspired architecture, and today it remains Turkey’s largest resort located on the Turkish Riviera. The beaches stretch far and wide and roaring up behind the city are the astounding Taurus Mountains, providing a dramatic backdrop to a very special getaway, that’s only four hours away.
At the foot of these mountains, you’ll find Konakli, a serene and traditional Turkish village that enjoys vast scenic views. A day out to the luxurious Cleopatra Beach should be on the cards, as well as having a go at rafting on the Dimcay River. There’s also Aqualand, which is sure to be a hit with the little ones.
If dipping your toes into cool, fresh water is for you then Manavgat won’t disappoint. The Manavgat River flows into a gorgeous waterfall near the town and you can take a boat trip along the river towards the Mediterranean Sea where you can catch the turtles swimming by. Quaint and shady tea gardens are speckled along the river’s edge providing perfect spots to refresh and enjoy the sights.
From here you can carry on to Side for even more breathtaking experiences. Side is known for its magnificent and colossal Roman amphitheatre ruins and well-preserved city walls.
Coined as the Beverly Hills of the Turkish Riviera, Belek is known for drawing an international and exclusive crowd. Lining its edges is a sizeable, 16-kilometre beach with Mediterranean waves that are fabulous for a multitude of watersports. A thermal spa is a welcoming accompaniment too – all wrapped up invitingly by greenery and prestigious golf courses.
