Clermont, Davenport & Haines Holiday Deals
Clermont
Clermont, Davenport and Haines are towns to the west and southwest of Orlando. Clermont is a mere 35km away from Orlando, home to the big theme parks, and is located in the aptly named Lake County. The whole area is a delight of lakes and hills. One hill is topped by the 1956 Citrus Tower. The observation floor at the top of the 67m tower will give you panoramic views of the district. South of the city is Lake Louisa State Park, where you can experience typically Floridian scenic beauty and relax among the flora and fauna. For something more invigorating, you can hike, bike, horse ride or swim.
Davenport
To the south of Clermont, down US Route 27, is the small town of Davenport, a 25 minute drive from the theme parks of Orlando. Davenport provides a peaceful base for tourists exploring Central Florida. Head up to the Central Florida Visitor Information Center to get your bearings, chat to the staff and plan your activities while in Clermont, Davenport and Haines, Florida. Among the many things to do in Florida, an airboat tour is a must. Captain Fred’s Airboat Nature Tour is located to the south of Davenport on Lake Hamilton. This may even be your chance to hold a baby alligator (but don’t try this in the wild – it’s dangerous and illegal).
Haines City
Another base for your Clermont, Davenport and Haines holidays is the larger city of Haines. It’s another great choice if you want plenty of accommodation and restaurants in tandem with easy access to Orlando and Walt Disney World. If you fancy a round of golf, the Southern Dunes Golf Club offers an 18 hole course as well as accommodation and a restaurant. To get a sense of Florida’s major citrus trade, take a tour of Ridge Island Groves. For a good picnic spot, head to Lake Eva Park for a stroll. Before you journey to the big theme parks, Legoland Florida is located just 16km away from Haines.
Walt Disney World
Let’s not beat around the bush: Walt Disney World is quite probably number one on your list of things to do when planning a holiday to Clermont, Davenport and Haines, Florida. After the success of the original Disneyland in California, Disney’s second major resort opened in Florida in 1971. It soon established itself as Central Florida’s key visitor attraction, and now the vast resort offers unending entertainment for the whole family. It can be easily reached from Clermont, Davenport and Haines. The original theme park is the Magic Kingdom, with the iconic Cinderella Castle as its main landmark and Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion among its many thrills. Don’t forget to take the opportunity to meet (and hug) your favourite characters from Mickey to Moana.
Universal Orlando Resort
After Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort may be number one on your list if you’re big fans of Harry Potter. The main ride at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter takes you through a re-creation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For superhero fans, there’s Marvel Super Hero Island, which features a Spider-Man themed 3D ride and a Hulk-themed rollercoaster. It doesn’t stop there. Visit Universal Studios Florida, the Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay waterpark, with its unmissable 61m artificial volcano, Krakatau, which contains massive drop slides.
Clermont, Davenport and Haines are the perfect places to stay and use as your base for holidays to Florida. Not only will you be in perfect reach of the famed resorts, you’ll have plenty of options for exploring Florida’s distinctive landscape, with its wildlife parks, restaurants, tours and more.
