One of the island’s best beaches is Praia de Chaves, which has a landscape of sand dunes and exotic palm trees and lies to the south of the island. The sandy beach of Praia do Estoril is closest to the island’s capital and is home to many of Boa Vista’s top hotels.

To the north is the stunning sandy beach of Santa Maria, named after the Spanish ship whose wreck still lies here, ready for snorkelling adventures. A selection of All Inclusive hotels are located along this seven-kilometre stretch of sand.
