Saturday May 16th is National Learn to Swim day and with the importance of swimming and safety highlighted by this event, it got us thinking that actually how cool would it be to learn to swim on holiday, not just for children but adults too.
Swimming is such an important life skill, not just for you, but for all of your family and of course it is a whole lot of fun too.
First choice Holidays have been teaching kids and adults to swim for many years now, with the help of ASA – Amateur Swimming Association, England’s national governing body for swimming. ASA – qualified coaches teach children aged 3 – 16 to swim in groups of no more than 6. Individual lessons are also available, not just for children, but adults too!
With all this in mind, let’s take a look at 11 Balearic swimming pools you must see, and that would be pretty cool to learn to swim in too!
Majorca
Majorca is the biggest of the Balearic Islands and really does have something for everyone. Families love the resorts such as Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa boasting shallow crystal clear waters, great for little ones. Couples love laid back Porto Cristo and the upmarket Illetas. And of course if you love to party, Magaluf needs no introduction.
Ibiza
Head out to the Island of Ibiza and you will be pleasantly surprised. Although known to many as the party capital, it also serves up trendy resorts and sleepy fishing villages such as Santa Eulalia and Es Cana. Don’t forget to head into San Antonio to catch that all important sunset.
Menorca
If you prefer a more chilled out laid back holiday, sleepy Menorca is the perfect place for you. Beautiful beaches are the main focus of this pretty island, however if you fancy exploring, historic resorts and towns such as Mahon and Ciutadella have plenty to offer.
