We’re loving the euros (even if we aren’t always loving England!), and it got us thinking – there’s nothing quite like enjoying the footie from your favourite bar abroad!
With that in mind, we’ve whipped up all the reasons why you should leave the UK behind to enjoy the great game from further afield…
1. Summer sunshine
If this isn’t one of the main reasons, we don’t know what is! We can’t always rely on England to perform in the Euros, and sadly we can’t always rely on our weather either! Jetting off to the likes of sunny Spain, Portugal or even Cyprus for a quick blast of sunshine will mean no matter what the result, you can at least bask in beautiful surroundings afterwards!
2. Pre & post match day drinks
A pint and the footie go hand in hand, and those pints taste even better when they’re being washed down with a dose of sunshine abroad too. Make the most of the All Inclusive drinks at your hotel and sip on a few cocktails before kick off, or celebrate with some shots in the local tipple when we score! In Greece? A round of Ouzo it is!
3. Big screen bliss
You’ll always find somewhere within your resort that has the games on – be it in the sports bar of your own hotel, or down at one of the local establishments in the town centre. Find a place serving good pub grub, order your favourite drink, and get ready to watch the boys bring it home on the big screen. Beats sitting at home!
4. Fellow footie fans
There’s nothing quite like cheering with your fellow Englishmen in a bar abroad, or bellowing out ‘it’s coming home!’ as a united chorus. If there’s one thing that brings us all together, it’s the footie – and being united abroad makes for an even better match-day atmosphere. Get ready to go crazy with like-minded Brits when we score – and if it doesn’t work out for England, at least you’ll come away with some new-found holiday friends!
5. Don your shirt with pride
One of the best things about having the latest England top is the opportunity to wear it on holiday! And it only means more when the Euros are on – get your shirt out on your nights out into town and cheer on the lads while you’re away.
6. You can celebrate in style
The best thing about watching England away while on holiday is the opportunity to celebrate in style! Where else can you celebrate a goal by jumping (fully clothed) into a pool?
Or how about honouring the win with a night out down the local strip, taking in all the ‘Happy Hours’ you can get?! Seeing England win feels good wherever you are, but it especially feels good on holiday when you’re already having the time of your life!
It’s coming home while you’re away…
