7 Islands We’d Rather be on Right Now!

So, we’ve survived January but that doesn’t mean that the British weather is getting any warmer, and is it just us or do you constantly find yourself wondering when it will be your turn to get away?

Well, the good news is there’s a bunch of sun-filled islands waiting for you, and they’re only a plane journey away!

Here are the islands we want to escape to – get ready for some serious wanderlust.

1. Ibiza, Spain

As last year’s holiday hotspot, what is it that draws us to Ibiza? Well, the answer is simple, the island is truly stunning. So if you thought Ibiza was all about big clubs and bar streets, you were wrong! Oh no, luxury Balearic Island holidays boast a whole lot more than what you see on the tourist trail, and by that we mean idyllic sandy coves, white cliffs and quaint villages.

2. Koh Samui, Thailand

Luxury spa resorts close to the beach is what you’ll find in Koh Samui, and if we haven’t mentioned it already, the shores here are a real jaw-dropper. If you’re all about the beach life then you’ve definitely chosen the right Thai Island. Koh Samui’s beaches offer a real-life castaway experience with their tranquil sand spots and famous diving sites, so beach bums will be in their element – when can we go?

3. Santorini, Greece

As one of the most photographed islands in the world, Santorini seems to be everyone’s bucket-list destination, but is there any wonder with those views? There’s something about that blue-domed building overlooking the Aegean Sea that never fails to amaze us. And let’s not mention the postcard sunsets over Oia, yes, they really are that beautiful.

4. Jamaica, Caribbean

If you’re looking for the ultimate island escape, Jamaica should be your top pick. This island’s laid-back shores are perfect for relaxing – I mean nothing says relaxation quite like the sound of reggae music and lapping oceans. Coconut palms, beach shacks, and far-stretching sand are just a few of the reasons why we love this Caribbean diamond.

5. Mauritius, Indian Ocean

If you’ve heard that Mauritius holidays are like stepping into a dream, you heard right. This paradise island can be found in the Indian Ocean and continues to grab our attention with its beautiful coloured beaches, lush greenery and sparkling ocean views – seriously, just look at that water.

6. Sicily, Italy

The island of Sicily may be small in size but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a load in. Discover roman ruins, sunlit countryside, and beaches on what has been described as one of the world’s most loved islands. But the biggest draw has to be the island’s stunning volcanic backdrop. That’s right –Mount Etna is Europe’s highest peak, so the views here are quite spectacular. Plus, Sicily’s cuisine alone makes us want to take this trip.

7. Madeira, Portugal

You’ll find everything from avocados, mangoes and orchids nestled into Madeira’s stunning natural landscape, so if you want to experience an island with a difference this year, make Madeira your island pick. Although there are a number of beaches here, this island isn’t your typical beach holiday. Visitors here will also get to experience Madeira’s beauty through hiking spots and Cabo Girão Skywalk, a glass-floored platform which allows visitors to view the Atlantic Ocean from Europe’s highest cliff. Make sure to check out our Madeira holidays All Inclusive deals if this is the Island you want to visit.
