It may seem a little premature to be discussing the Christmas period, but in this case there’s no such thing as early.
If like us your bank holidays are precious, we suggest you use them wisely this year. Just like the Easter break, you can bag more holidays for less this Christmas. That’s right – you can go away for 10 consecutive nights using just 4 days annual leave!
With Christmas creeping up, get ahead of the game and secure a longer holiday before anyone else. Imagine finishing work on the 22nd December and not returning until the 3rd January – that’s music to our ears.
This year Christmas falls on a Monday, which means Boxing Day is on a Tuesday so both bank holidays come immediately after the weekend. Then, New Year’s Day falls on the following Monday, again after another weekend.
All you have to do is take off the 27th, 28th and 29th, plus 2nd January and you could be escaping those chilly mornings and dark evenings for 10 nights soaking up the sun in a winter warm hotspot.
So, make use of your bank holidays this year and spend the festive period on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean.
If you’re not quite following, below are the dates you need to know.
10 days of Christmas
- 23rd December 2017 – Saturday
- 24th December 2017 – Sunday
- 25th December 2017 – Christmas
- 26th December 2017 – Boxing Day
- 27th December 2017 – Wednesday – normal working day
- 28th December 2017 – Thursday – normal working day
- 29th December 2017 – Friday – normal working day
- 30th December 2017 – Saturday
- 31st December 2017 – Sunday
- 1st December 2017 – New Year’s Day
- 2nd December 2017 – Monday – normal working day
Of course, this doesn’t apply to every worker, but if you’re employed by a company who doesn’t open on weekends and bank holidays, this is your chance to grab some winter sun without eating into a chunk of your annual leave.
And if you don’t fancy jetting off for 10 nights, you can always bag a week holiday instead. Don’t waste any time though, given the time of year, holidays are bound to get booked up.
