In April 2008 me and my family (hubby and 2 girls aged 2 and 4) holidayed in Tenerife. We chose to stay in the resort of Puerto De La Cruz because a friend had told us how beautiful and picturesque it was. We were not disappointed. It was better than all the pictures we’d seen. The old town and main promenade are pedestrianised which was perfect as I had to push my daughter in her pram. The sun made the beach’s volcanic sands quite hot, but not too much so – my girls still managed to build sandcastles and bury their dad. It was generally really hot in resort.
One day we visited Loro Parque theme park. This was … it was a great day out for the whole family. My daughters particularly liked the sea lion and dolphin shows. I must admit they were spectacular, the animals are trainers were both so talented. My youngest daughter even wanted to take one of the dolphins home to live with us in bathroom! We got the free mini train that runs from the harbour to Loro Parque, and I would recommend this as you also get to see a lot of the resort on the way. The resort really is beautiful with narrow cobbled streets, gardens and water features. It has plenty of restaurants that cater for children, which is great. We had a really good family holiday and would definitely recommend Puerto De La Cruz.
