Heathrow airport is expecting 5.7 million passengers to pass through its doors during April, and averaged over 100,000 a day for the first few days of the main Easter school holidays.
Destinations such as Rome, Venice and Barcelona are proving popular for mini breaks with the Canary Islands, Costa Brava and Costa del Sol coming out on top for short haul holidays. Further afield Egypt is leading the mid haul market and Goa is the top destination for long haul.
