If you’re looking for a fun family getaway for just you and the kids, or perhaps you’re heading away with the whole family, then you know you can always rely on sunny Spain to deliver an amazing escape.
We’ve rounded up what we think are the best family hotels in Spain – from amazing facilities to one-of-a-kind kids’ clubs and even access to one of the world’s best waterparks, these hotels will leave everyone in the family feeling fantastic!
Holiday Village Lanzarote, Lanzarote
If you’ve never stayed at a Holiday Village property as a family…you’re missing out! These hotels have everything you could possibly need for memorable holidays, tailored perfectly towards families.
Known as the RIO Playa Blanca between November to April, from May ‘til October, this hotel transforms into a Holiday Village, when its offering of family entertainment, kids’ clubs and sports academies really kick into action.
The hotel’s main pool is where most of the action takes place – family members can challenge each other to a race on the inflatable courses, and kids will have a blast slipping and sliding inside their very own WaterWalkerz ball!
Little ones will love having mini-adventures of their own in the splash park, and thanks to the fantastic Holiday Village Swim Academy, they can be saying goodbye to their armbands before the holiday’s up!
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also Aerial Adventure, where kids can strap in their harnesses and make their way through each exciting section of the elevated course. The sense of accomplishment they’ll feel at the end will be the highlight of their holiday!
If you’d prefer to make a splash in the sea, there’s a sandy beach just 10 minutes’ walk away. Plus, you’re perfectly situated in the seaside village of pretty Playa Blanca, one of Lanzarote’s biggest and best-loved resorts, meaning you can be out-and-about in a flash.
Holiday Village Costa Del Sol, Mainland Spain
If you’re a frequent visitor to sunny Spain and want to spend some splendid time there together with the family, then the Holiday Village Costa Del Sol on the mainland is a great place to start.
This seafront hotel is perched on the outskirts of beautiful Benalmadena, one of the most loved resorts on Spain’s Costa Del Sol.
It’s lagoon like pool is the standout feature here, penned in by swaying palm trees and with a sea view to rival even the most luxurious resorts.
The hotel is home to an all-action beach club, where you can soak up panoramic sea views from a poolside jacuzzi, make a splash with the wave machine, and where kids can practice their ‘heyyy mhearties!’ on a pirate ship.
There’s no shortage of entertainment on offer at this hotel either. Take in a pop or cabaret show, catch a film in the mini cinema or pull up a seat in the Irish Bar for sports on the big screen. There’s even karaoke nights too, if you fancy a singalong!
The kids will be spoilt for choice with activities – from the Swim Academy and Football Academy offered free as standard by Holiday Villages, to an Aerial Adventure course, not to mention a multi-sports court for tennis, table tennis, pool, darts and billiards – having fun as a family here is just a given.

If you thought Ibiza was just about the beach clubs and the nightlife – you couldn’t be more wrong! This idyllic isle has so much to offer aside from a marvellous music scene.
The TUI Magic Life Cala Pada is a stylish setting for your family holiday – it has a real bohemian feel to it, giving authentic Spanish vibes from the moment you arrive.

The main restaurant is a big big buffet spread with plenty of choice to suit everyone, with a show-cooking station, a healthy corner and even themed nights. There’s also two speciality restaurants, for when you fancy changing things up a bit.
When you’re thirsty, the 24-hour Wunderbar will refresh you with an amazing selection of drinks – from cocktails to coffees, you’ll always be hydrated!
If you’ve never stayed in a TUI Magic Life hotel before, it’ll soon become a new favourite. Jam-packed with entertainment and activities for you to try, all ages will be thrilled with the things they can get up to whilst away. There’s more than 60 activities planned every day!

The serene resort of Santa Eulalia is only two miles away if you want a bit more hustle and bustle – the palm-fringed promenade here is perfect for people watching, and there’s an amazing choice of restaurants and shops to stroll by.
And… if you’re away on a multi-generational holiday with the grandparents, and you’re partial to an amazing night out, you can always enjoy a world famous DJ set thanks to your babysitters and be back before bedtime!
HD Parque Cristobal Tenerife & Siam Park, Tenerife
There’s a reason why Tenerife is the most popular of the Canary Islands. This simply stunning island has so much to see and do, especially for families!
HD Parque Cristobal Tenerife and Siam Park should be at the top of your list for a gorgeous getaway on the island. With it’s amazingly central location – less than five minutes’ walk away from both the beach and the lively town centre of Playa de las Americas – you’re right in the heart of all this destination has to offer.
The hotel itself comes in the form of family-friendly bungalows, dotted all around beautiful gardens. There’s plenty of entertainment on offer both day and night, with the TUI Kids’ Club running from May to October.
But the big thing to shout out about here is the free access you get to Europe’s biggest and best waterpark – Siam Park!
Not only do you get free access, but there’s a free shuttle bus that can take you there every day too. So you can save your legs for swimming!
This waterpark isn’t your usual offering of slides and a pool – this Asian-inspired park goes all-out with one-of-a-kind water rides and a wave pool that will have you screaming in delight!
Grab the kids and head down the Mhai Thai River, or make your way through the Lost City – a glistening fortress teeming with bridges, waterfalls and tipping buckets. There’s no chance you’ll stay dry here!
Head to the park as many times as you want – we’re sure you’ll want more than one visit! Food and drink in the park come at an extra charge, and there’s some height restrictions on some rides. Whatever you go on and whatever you get up to, you’ll have a blast!
And if you didn’t know already, Tenerife is toasty all year-round thanks to its position just off the coast of North Africa. So the Costa del Sol might be a bit nippy in December, but you can still catch a tan in Tenerife pretty much every month of the year!
TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins, Majorca
What better hotel can a family visit than a TUI BLUE For Families hotel? It’s in the name, after all! Specialising in all things family, this hotel is sure to leave you and your loved ones with lasting memories of your Spanish escape.
Majorca is a firm favourite with families – it’s only a short plane ride away and has some of the most beautiful scenes in all of Europe (maybe even the world!)
When it comes to days spent in the sunshine, there’s everything you need here for a fun-filled and relaxing stay. There’s a big pool with its own water slide, not to mention built-in hot tubs – the perfect spot for sitting back with a cocktail (or two!)
All ages are well catered for at the TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins – there’s BabyClub especially for tots, kids clubs for 3 to 11 year olds, and even a specific place for teens called The Hangout, kitted out with games consoles and funky places to chill out.
If you didn’t know already, Captain T (formally Thomson the Dog) is the mascot around these parts, and little ones will love interacting with him throughout their jollies. They can even learn to cook with him, making the likes of fruit salads and pizzas with him at the hotel’s fun cooking classes!
The beach out the front of the hotel could be mistaken for being a slice of Caribbean coast, with wonderfully shallow waters that are perfect for paddling.
And if you fancy a look out (although we doubt you’ll need to leave your hotel!), there’s plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Plus, it’s less than two miles to Ca’n Picafort, and less than three miles to the bustling resort of Alcudia.
