Head Off On Holiday
Atrium Platinum Spa & Resort, which boasts the biggest spa in Rhodes, is a fantastic luxury hotel in the town of Ixia on the Greek island of Rhodes. Ixia is a pretty, purpose-built resort that clings to the curl of the Aegean coastline known as Ixia Bay, and is found on Rhodes’ northwest tip. The hotel is around 4km from the centre of Ixia with its restaurants and shops, and 3km to Rhodes Town.
Atrium Platinum Spa & Resort is a 20 minute taxi journey from the airport so it’ll be no time at all before you’re sunning yourself around the pool or relaxing on Ixia’s pebble beach, catching a tan and enjoying an ice cold drink.
The pool takes pride of place at this luxury hotel, and the set-up joins together a huge expanse of water and sprinkles it with water jets and waterfalls. The water flows around small, round pools, and a children’s pool. In the middle of the water is a circular bar, with bridges so waiters can easily bring drinks to your lounger.
Sensational Spa
The spa has the accolade of being the largest in Rhodes, and it’s certainly big on pampering. There’s a heated pool with Jacuzzi and water jets, as well as a hammam, hydrobath and affusion showers.
The spa treatments here are second to none, and include anti-ageing facials, body scrubs and lava shell massage. The products used are from the highly-rated Thalgo and Phytomer brands, so you know you’re in for a truly relaxing treat.
If your idea of relaxing is blowing off some steam in a gym, then you’ll be pleased to know this place has a great set up ready for you to use. There’s also an on site hairdressers if you feel like your hair do eeds a bit of a spruce up, or if you just want to get dolled up for dinner one evening.
Foodies Delight
Atrium Platinum Spa & Resort boasts four delicious a la carte restaurants, as well as a buffet option. The Archipelagos restaurant is the buffet spot, which serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner with show cooking and themed nights with gorgeous views.
A la carte dining is available in the Greek, barbecue, gourmet and Asian restaurants. Just so you know, men will need to wear trousers in all of these restaurants for dinner. The Barbeque a la carte is in a great spot by the poolside, and specialises in Greek cuisine and barbeque meats. At the à la carte Asian restaurant, a statue of Buddha greets you at the door, while the gourmet place is worth a visit for the quirky red lipstick wallpaper, not to mention the fabulous sea view.
Rest Your Head
The rooms here will make it hard to get out of bed in the morning, but we’re sure the gorgeous hotel facilities are enough to get you up, even if it’s from your indoor bed to an outdoor one. There’s a variety of rooms here all with a balcony or a terrace, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning.
There are double rooms and you can choose to treat yourself to a deluxe or executive upgrade if you wish. Junior suites also have deluxe rooms available for that extra special touch. If you’re after a show-stopping stay, go for one of the superior or executive suites.
Plus, all of the room types can be booked with a private pool upgrade, meaning you don’t have to walk far to enjoy a cooling dip in the sunshine. You’ll even have your own loungers outside so you can make the most of the rays, without having to leave the comfort of your suite.
