This Saturday sees the TNT Sun & Snow Travel Show touch down in central London’s QEII Centre, with the promise of on some great inspiration and advice for anyone planning cheap holidays throughout the world this winter and next year.
The travel show, now in its fourth year, will feature talks by experts across the industry, such as Lonely Planet head of media and communications Laura Lindsay, who will be spilling the beans on the best European winter breaks for less than £150.
National Geographic Traveller’s editor and editorial director Pat Riddell and Maria Pieri will talk about their top ten list of next year’s most exciting new holiday hotspots and there are also set to be seminars on the most essential attractions to see on cheap holidays in Ireland, the top ten world’s greatest excursions and cheap holidays in Egypt.
Ms Pieri gave a sneak preview of two of the hotspots she will be recommending – Burma and the Arctic’s Northern Lights.
“Following pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s stamp of approval and the general feeling of change in the political climate there, Burma is a country finally opening up again to tourism,” she said. “It’s the best time to see the Northern Lights since the past 50 years according to NASA. Head to Iceland or Finland.”
The show is not aimed at the older traveller, however, with the publicity declaring it to be “exclusively for 18 to 39s,” so 40-plus holidaymakers will have to seek their inspiration elsewhere. Everyone else should find a great deal of information and some help with holiday planning, whether they fancy relaxing on an exotic beach or skiiing down the snowy slopes of Austria or Switzerland.
The show is easy to get to if you live in London and the south east and is cheap as well – with entry free if you pre-register online, or just £2 on the door if you show up on the day.
