The Canary Islands may be popular for their family-friendly hotspots and year-round sunshine, but they also offer fantastic nightlife which caters to a range of travellers. When it comes to nightlife the Canary Islands are often overshadowed by the popular Spanish resorts of Ibiza and Magaluf, yet this shouldn’t be the case. In fact, the Canaries have a whole host of vibrant resorts which come alive as soon as the sun sets.
So, whether you choose Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote or Fuerteventura these are the best resorts for a night on the tiles…
Playa del Inglés, Gran Canaria
Wedged between the smaller resorts of Maspalomas and San Agustin and Gran Canaria’s largest holiday resort, Playa del Inglés has so much to offer in terms of nightlife. From karaoke bars, casinos, cabarets, and swanky nightclubs you’re guaranteed a fun-fuelled evening.
Kasbah is the place to be when it comes to nightlife – and with its very own Cream, Pacha, and Chinawhite playing the best dance music, you can wave goodbye to your sleep because these clubs stay open until the daylight hours. Want to start your evening early? Then bars like Hippodrome and Havana and Sugar are great options if you want some quiet pre-drinks before hitting the big clubs.
Playa de las Américas, Tenerife
Situated on the south coast of the island and one of Tenerife’s most famed resorts, yes if you haven’t already guessed, we’re talking about Playa de las Américas. This bustling resort prides itself on its animated nightspots, which are placed on the famous Veronicas strip – this is where many of the late-closing clubs can be found.
Starco Centre and the Patch are the best places to head at the beginning of the night as they offer a range of bars, which cater to a whole host of music tastes. With Irish bars, cabarets, beach clubs, discothèques, and it’s very own Hard Rock Cafe, Playa de las Américas is fast-becoming a real clubbing contender.
Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote
If you’re heading on holiday to Lanzarote for lively nights then look no further than Puerto del Carmen. Although not as wild as its neighbouring Spanish resorts, it still boasts 7km of bars, restaurants, and clubs to keep everyone from young revellers and mature crowds entertained.
So, if your holidays are all about late evenings spend clubbing and flashing your cash in casinos then Centro in the Avenida de las Playas is the place to be. And it will be hard to resist the dance floor when you hear those old school classics pouring out of every bar you walk past. But don’t worry if you prefer low-key drinking spots as there are also plenty of classy cocktail bars to take advantage of such as La Delicatezza, which is renowned for its skilled mixologists.
Corralejo, Fuerteventura
Despite being one of the more laid-back night scenes in the Canaries, there are still plenty of parties in Corralejo. So, if you want to locate the liveliest hangouts you need to go to Avenida del Generalisimo Franco. This is at the heart of all the action with its mix of live music venues, British pubs, and dance bars.
Is it your first time in Corralejo? If so, we recommend Flicks Bar and Rock Island Bar, which have become firm favourites among many holidaymakers because of their fun vibes and friendly staff. However, if you’re more of a hard-core partier Waikiki Nightclub may be more your scene with its late closing time of 7am! That’s right – this restaurant by day transforms into a Latin club by night.
