TUI hand luggage increased to 10kg

Here’s some great news if you’re jetting off on a TUI holiday! From the 1^st of May 2019 your complimentary hand luggage allowance will increase to 10kg.  Previous to this your hand luggage allowance would depend on your holiday type and your allowance ranged from 5kg to 7kg.

What is the maximum hand luggage size?

It’s worth bearing in mind that there is no change to the dimensions of your hand luggage. On a TUI flight the maximum size of your cabin bag is 55 x 40 x 20cm and you are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage per person. This must be able to fit into the overhead storage departments and any additional items you are carrying such as laptops, handbags and any shopping bought at the airport, must fit into this bag.

What can you take in your hand luggage?

There are no changes to the rules around what you can carry in your hand luggage on a TUI flight. Liquids can be carried in your 1 piece of hand luggage in containers measuring no more than 100ml – 3.5 fluid Oz. These containers must be carried in a clear plastic bag measuring no more than 20cm x 20cm. Anything larger than this must be packed in your checked-in luggage. These rules apply to each traveller including infants. For full up-to-date details, we would recommend to always check with your airline before travel.

Will my checked-in luggage change?

There is no change to your checked-in luggage allowance on package holidays, the amount you receive is usually between 15kg and 20kg depending on the type of holiday you have booked.  If you’ve booked Premium seats, your checked-in luggage allowance will be 23kg. Your luggage allowance will be displayed at the time of booking and you will also receive this information on your confirmation and e-ticket.

Infant allowance

There is no change to the under-2s allowance if you’re flying with TUI. They will still receive a check-in allowance of 10kg and you can also take a pushchair for free. If you are flying with another airline, you will need to check their policies regarding pushchairs and luggage allowance for infants.

Onboard upgrades now available

If you haven’t already upgraded your seats, you will now have the chance to do so once you board your flight. This gives you the choice to stretch your legs with extra legroom or extra space seats. How about flying Premium and taking advantage of those little extras such as a larger 38-inch seat pitch?

Of course, we would always recommend you book Extra Leg room, Extra Space or Premium seats at the time of booking to guarantee your seat and to get your holiday off to a flying start!

What if I’m flying with another airline?

If you’re flying with another airline on a TUI package holiday, you will need to check your hand luggage allowance on your holiday confirmation or e-ticket and, the on board upgrades may not be available.
